Stuck in Place

This man sitting outside is a perfect illustration of someone who’s doing nothing. He hasn’t moved in so long there’s a layer of snow on his head. Of course, he does have a perfect excuse.

He’s a lifeless statue.

You and I aren’t.

The Key to Altering Your Life Permanently

One professor memorized huge chunks of the Bible and gained nothing from it. He had very little faith. Memorizing the Bible isn’t enough. The life-changing power of God’s Word happens when we obey God.

Start with Jesus’ teaching. The Holy Spirit speaks more often to us through the Scriptures  than any other way. Move on to the New Testament. Pay attention to commands sprinkled in Psalms and Proverbs. Then check out the Old Testament. It’s rich in personal stories; Numbers and Malachi are two of my favorite books, along with Genesis and Exodus.

The Spiritual Point

As we obey Him, our inner natures change to become more like our Savior’s. After decades of imperfectly following Jesus, I now have more inner healing and peace then I ever could have imagined.

And it all happened because I treated the Word of God seriously and obeyed.
