‘Suffering should not make us bitter people,’ my mother once said, ‘it should make us better comforters.’ (Billy Graham)

Suffering is Universal

External pressures will either destroy us, or make us better.

I suspect that’s why God doesn’t wrap believers up in bubble-wrap. Instead, He allows us to experience the same suffering and loss which plagues the rest of humanity. He’s not interested in prevent us us from being hurt. Instead God wants to change us. To mold us into the image of Jesus.

The way we respond to our hard times is key. Suffering will either cause our light to shine brighter or plunge our lives into crippling darkness.

And our choices make the difference.
