Eternally Safe

They Shall Never Perish

Sheep jumping over a man-made gate.

26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:26-28 NIV)

A Theological Debate

Can a Christian belonging to the Good Shepherd cease to be His sheep? The Scriptural answer isn’t 100% clear. But let me reassure you. But if you’ve fallen into a sinful lifestyle and are worrying that you are now no longer His, it’s clear evidence you are still safely in Jesus’ hand.

The sign someone has hardened their heart and rejected Christ in a permanent way is their inability to repent ever again. They don’t wish to. Their rejection of Christ is total. (Hebrews 6:4-6)

Our Good Shepherd seeks the sheep who stray. Why? Because He loves those who belong to Him and He continues to seek them.
