History Belongs to the Intercessors

I created three memes this week with the same short message:

History belongs to the Intercessors. (Walter Wink)

A flat map of the world with blue oceans and yellow continents.

The earth, photographed from outer space, with the sun beginning to rise.

Two hands cupping the earth, which is floating in darkness.

Here’s the full quote:

“History belongs to the intercessors—those who believe and pray the future into being.” Walter Wink

Prayer Changes Everything

World-changing power is unleashed when we pray according to what God wants, rather than what we want.

His dreams and goals are always too big for us to see, until He brings them into reality. I will never know why the Almighty waits on us to ask Him to move. But when the Holy Spirit places a God-given prayer in a Christian’s heart and he or she starts to pray it? Heaven splits open, the Almighty comes down and does the impossible.

Scotland is Transformed

Almost five centuries ago, the fiery preacher John Knox started praying a divinely inspired prayer. “Give me Scotland or I die.”

In spite of intense persecution, his prayers were answered. A powerful revival broke out in Scotland, transforming the church and bringing many souls into the kingdom.

Mary Queen of Scots, who followed the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, tried to stamp out this protestant heresy but couldn’t. She is rumored to have said,

I fear the prayers of John Knox more than all the assembled armies of Europe.

Feel free to share any of these memes.
