Divine Interruptions

Stop What You’re Doing

I called this post Divine Interruptions. Because when the Almighty suddenly breaks in, asks us to toss our plans aside. it’s frequently disruptive. But He has something divinely important for us to do instead.

Why, He acts like He’s my Master.

Well…

A snowy road through a pine forest, with the winter sun shining.

Jesus’ earthly plans were never interrupted; instead each was a divine appointment. (M.H. Puccini)

Jesus’ plans frequently got highjacked. Hurtling humanity kept sidetracking Him. There were early morning hours of solitary prayer. Evenings where the Lord set aside time to enjoy His twelve apostles. Even days when Christ traveled only with Peter, James and John.

But most days, crowds of people actively sought Him out and He always responded graciously to their needs.

But Jesus never experienced interruptions.

Instead He lived to do the will of of His Heavenly Father, 100% of the time.

My Spiritual Point:

Next time our plans get disrupted, let’s pause a moment and look up. Maybe the Lord has set up a divine appointment. If so, we don’t want to miss it.

Question of the Day

When was your last divine appointment?

For me, it was a phone call from an old friend battling cancer. She called just seconds before I was going to turn off my cell phone. It’s happened twice in the last few weeks.
