Traveling an Unknown Path

Trust is Never Easy

And neither is surrender.

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God” (Corrie ten Boom)

Rescuing Holland’s Jews

Corrie ten Boom knew all about living in uncertainty, fear and mental torment when she wrote these words.

During World War II, her family rescued Jews in danger of being shipped to the Nazi concentration camps. With an ever widening network of volunteers, Corrie and her people called themselves “God’s Underground” and trusted in His guidance and protection.

Until one day everything went horribly wrong and the Nazis arrested her whole family.

Soon Corrie and her elder sister Betsy found themselves imprisoned in a German concentration camp. In the midst of horror and great evil, they experienced God’s loving, faithful care.

Afterwards, Corrie traveled all over the world, sharing words of encouragement in the darkest places. This was one of her sayings.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.

A Prescription for Pain

Are you going through a rough time right now?

How well do you know God?

Because this is your chance to go much deeper.

Now’s the time to draw close to Him in every way you can. Worship through your tears. Give the Lord “a sacrifice of praise.” Hammer on the gates of Heaven and trust that God will open the door. Soak in the scriptures. Read other Christian books that have blessed you. Scream out your frustration and fears to Him—He doesn’t mind.

When you don’t know where to turn, turn to Jesus.

Grab hold of His robe and don’t let go.
