Divinely Interrupted

God’s Way is UnsettlingClocks superimposed on a city at night.

We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

Every Biblical hero or heroine we admire had their life scrambled by God. Their own personal plans ended up in the trash heap. Because God stepped in and interrupted their lives.

“Forget your plans for your life; follow My dream for you instead.”

It’s risky. Often, walking by faith is scary or just plain hard.

  • Moses spent 40 years in the desert with a rebellious people who whined non-stop!
  • When Abram left the security of his hometown to wander the desert, the Lord wouldn’t even tell him where he was going.
  • Esther ended up married to a pagan king; neither she nor her uncle had a choice.
  • Daniel and Joseph both got evicted from their home environment and forcibly relocated to an alien culture 100s of miles away.

Yet God had a plan for each person’s life, greater than anything they could have imagined. When they each chose to follow the Lord, they fulfilled His dream

So, do you want to be powerfully used by God?

Then prepare to be interrupted.
